Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey
Ho-Ho-Kus is the place to be if you want to start a family while not venturing too far from New York City. An influx of young couples with children has changed the demographic of this picture postcard town in recent
years, and the tight community bond among the population of around 4,000 is second to none in the area.
The town's shopping center is a blend of tradition and fine dining. A table at The Ho-Ho-Kus Inn, with roots dating back to the 18th Century, is one of the most highly sought reservations for miles. History buffs will also adore The Hermitage, a beautiful Gothic Revival landmark home set in dense wooded splendor. Special events really bring the community together, with an Easter parade that seems to attract the whole town, an annual 5k run, and the Ducky Derby - where hundred of rubber ducks swim the Ho-Ho-Kus brook -
has to be seen to be believed!
The HHK public school system houses grades K through 8 in the same campus, offering students a smooth transition through to high school, where they attend top-ranking Northern Highlands in Allendale.
