Upper Saddle River, bordered by the neighboring boroughs of Mahwah, Ramsey, Allendale, Saddle River, and Park Ridge, has a 2010 census population of 8,208. The borough’s northern border lies along the NJ-NY state line.
Upper Saddle River is a haven of beautiful homes and gardens with rich historical roots. Once farmland, the town prides itself on its modern, yet rural, feel.
Housing in Upper Saddle River mainly consists of single-family homes, many of which are large houses on one-acre lots. There is one apartment complex, which is located in the western part of the borough.

Transportation
Upper Saddle River offers convenient access to main roads for commuters to take in order to travel around the state or into Manhattan. These roads include Route 17 and the Garden State Parkway.
Residents who take public transportation can take Short Line buses from Upper Saddle River to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. Short Line stops in the borough are located on Saddle River Road and Lake Street.
