Janis is very much involved in the Ridgewood community. She has been very active with the Ridgewood High School Jamboree to raise money for scholarships and serves on the Board of Trustees. She also served on the board of the Inter-religious Fellowship of Bergen County and the Transitional Housing Committee of the Junior League of Bergen County. She is an active member of the College Club of Ridgewood and has produced several College Club Capers productions. She has been the signature sponsor for the Woman's Club of Ridgewood's annual Spring House Tour. The proceeds of the tour supports local charities including Baby Basics, Children's Aid and Family Services, and Shelter Our Sisters. Janis was recently appointed to the Ridgewood Library Board of Trustees.
