unnamed  Recently the Upper Saddle River Educational Foundation held its 11th annual Town Night Out Gala at the Pearl River Hilton. The USREF, headed up by its President Diane Cookson, conducted an Upper Saddle River community wide search to honor Heroes of Super Storm Sandy. These USR residents went above and beyond supporting their community during Hurricane Sandy. The Educational Foundation selected 12 local “Heroes” which were honored that evening for their humanitarian efforts. Each hero received an award and a gift which was presented by Joanne Minichetti, Mayor of Upper Saddle River. All of the honorees that evening had a very special story to tell.

Each year the USREF hosts their annual Gala to raise monies for the public schools of Upper Saddle River, where school budgets run short. This year under the leadership of Diane Cookson, President the Upper Saddle River Educational Foundation, the Foundation raised $130,000 to benefit the elementary schools of USR.

The event brought over 375 attendees, including the school administration, Mayor Minichetti, Upper Saddle River Council, Chief of Police Patrick Rotella in addition to all the other sponsors and supporters. This year was Diane Cookson’s first year serving as President.

In addition to being the President of the USREF, Diane is an associate of Terrie O’Connor Realtors Saddle River Group and a mother of 3.
